Joseph (Joe) Grosch, 62, passed away at his Chantilly, Virginia home on May 23, 2020, following a brief illness.   Per his wishes, no service will be held.

Joe was born November, 24, 1957, in San Francisco, California, to Thomas and Valencia (Yaeger) Grosch.  

​

Joe attended Clovis High School in Clovis, California and graduated in 1976.  He served in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1978 to 1982 and was posted to the Coast Guard Air Station in Sitka, Alaska.  Following his military service, Joe went to work for the U.S. State Department and was posted overseas for a portion of his career.

Joe loved to travel and was an avid scuba diver.  He also enjoyed, slot car racing, darts, and Texas Hold'em.  He was a collector of antique Hot Wheel and Matchbox cars.   

​

He is survived by wife, Maxine; son, Travis; and daughter-in-law, Jaclyn.  

​

He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas; mother, Valencia; and sister, Moonyean.

​
